Memory

“Memory is fragile and the space of a single life is brief, passing so quickly that we never get a chance to see the relationship between events; we cannot gauge the consequences of our acts, and we believe in the fiction of past, present, and future, but it may also be true that everything happens simultaneously. That’s why my Grandmother Clara wrote in her notebooks, in order to see things in their true dimension and to defy her own poor memory.”Isabel Allende, House of Spirits

  1. I do enjoy her work, and I have two of her books. Both are English translations. I am doing this from memory, so forgive me if I screw up in Spanish, but "La casa de los espíritus" The House Of my Spirit is fanfreakingtastic. And I also liked the movie.

  2. As I can see, you have an excellent taste! Actually I'm following you now :)
I first saw the movie "La casa de los espíritus" (which you perfectly wrote) when I was just a little girl, that's when I discovered Isabel Allende, and years later I could understood better the deep and strong meanings this writer gifted us.
    Kisses!!
